During an initial consultation with Dr. Dubrow regarding liposuction ("lipoplasty"), Riverside and Orange County patients can discuss the procedure, expected outcome, potential risks/side effects, and post-surgical care. Depending on your specific needs, Dr. Dubrow will determine which lipoplasty method is right for you.

Dr. Dubrow can perform the following lipostructure/liposuction techniques on Newport Beach and Riverside patients:

• Tumescent liposuction: A large volume of saline, local anesthetic, and adrenaline is injected in the target area prior to suction. This allows for less bleeding and bruising, and patient comfort.

• Power-assisted liposuction (PAL): With the use of a "powered" cannula (rapid, vibrating speed is produced at the tip), fat deposits are removed. Fat cells are loosened in order to allow for easier suction. This is often combined with tumescent liposuction.

• SmartLipo ™: This technique uses laser technology to melt and liquefy the fat within the fat cells, while smoothing and tightening the skin at the same time. Recovery is commonly shorter in comparison to other liposuction methods.

In order to reach a more sculpted figure, Dr. Dubrow may also suggest tummy tuck surgery ("abdominoplasty") to be performed in combination with liposuction. Stomach muscles are tightened and loose, hanging skin is removed during a tummy tuck.
